An extremely rare Liverpool porcelain William Reid teapot
‘Pencilled’ in overglaze black enamel with a Chinaman playing a flute and a boy seated near him holding a parasol. Pencilled decoration is rarely found on Liverpool porcelain and only two other pieces with this form of decoration are known, a beaker and a small mug both from the Watney collection.
This tea pot is illustrated by Maurice Hillis in ‘Liverpool Porcelain’
